POLICY OF SUSTAINABILITY AND GOOD ENVIRONMENTAL PRACTICES

CAFORE ABOGADOS S. A. S.

  1. Statement of Commitment At Cafore Abogadoswe recognize that the exercise of the legal profession and the provision of legal services must go hand in hand with the social and environmental responsibility. As a modern law firm, we operate under a model that prioritizes efficiency, technological innovation and the reduction of our carbon footprint. This policy sets out our guidelines for action both in our physical headquarters as in the spaces of telework our team.
  2. Telework as a Shaft of Sustainability We embrace remote work as our general rule of operation. This strategic decision not only promotes the well-being of our team, but that is our primary measure of a positive environmental impact by:
  • Significantly reduce the greenhouse gas emissions associated with commuting in the city.
  • Reduce the consumption of resources, energy and water in our physical facilities.
  1. Digitization and Culture "Zero Paper" We are proud to count with 80% of our processes digitized. To maintain and improve this indicator, we establish the following guidelines:
  • Priority Digital: The review of contracts, records and internal documents will be exclusively in digital format.
  • Electronic Signatures: We will encourage the use of electronic signatures and digital legally valid with our customers and partners.
  • Print and Receive Exceptional Physical Documents: The reception and printing of physical documents in our headquarters will be strictly limited to cases in which the law or the institutions require it, so inescapable. This applies specifically and exclusively for the custody and management of securities (promissory notes, bills of exchange, etc) and for the management of notary procedures or registration, which legally requires supports in the physical. In case you need printing, we will prioritize the use of both sides of the paper.
  1. Responsible Waste management We comply with the national regulations in force (Resolution 2184, 2019), and ensure the correct separation of our waste:
  • Physical Headquarters: Our facilities are equipped with the containers regulatory separation in the source:
    • White: Waste usable (paper file, cardboard, plastics, clean).
    • Black: Waste not recoverable.
    • Green: Organic waste.
  • Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE) and Special: Computers unsubscribes, peripherals, batteries and toner/ink will not be commingled with waste ordinary. The signature will centralize these elements and will deliver only to authorized agents or programs, post-consumer, preserving the respective Certificate of Disposal.
  • Telework: Invite you to our entire team to replicate the model of separation of waste in their homes and to bring their batteries or small electronics to our physical headquarters for its proper disposal.
  1. Energy efficiency and Responsible Consumption
  • In the office and at home: We promote making the most of natural light during the day.
  • Equipment management: It is mandatory to switch off and unplug the computer equipment and chargers at the end of the working day, both in the physical headquarters and in the mode of tele-working, to avoid power consumption in standby mode ("energy vampire").
  1. Measurement and Compensation of Direct Carbon Footprint and water footprint We recognize that even with our efficiency measures, the high level of digitalization and the prioritization of teleworking, our operation causes an environmental impact. For this reason, we have charted a path toward carbon neutrality under two fundamental commitments:
  • Measurement: We are committed to calculate annually the carbon footprint and the water footprint of our firm, taking into account the energy consumption of our physical headquarters, and the derivative of the model of telework our team.
  • Direct compensation through Reforestation: Mitigaremos our environmental impact so active and verifiable, assuming the planting, maintenance and ongoing care of trees (native species) on the estates own from the firm or its partners. This initiative ensures not only the capture of carbon in the long term, but our direct involvement, real and tangible in the recovery and conservation of the ecosystem. Also, will offset our footprint directly contributing to the protection of the factories of natural water of Colombia by the adoption and protection of frailejones in the ecosystem, moorland, supporting their long-term preservation.
  1. Exercise Pro Bono Legal Environmental In Cafore Lawyers we believe that our greatest contribution is delivered from our professional experience. Therefore, we structured a commitment to Corporate Social Responsibility by which we plan to have a certain number of annual hours of legal work Pro Bono to advise, guide and accompany legally foundations, non-governmental organizations (Ngos) or community-based initiatives that have as their mission the protection of the environment, the conservation of ecosystems and sustainable development.
